Rewired - an exhibition of wirework and paintings

Make the most of Museums and Galleries Month this May with a visit to Leicestershire County Council’s Melton Library Art Gallery.

The theme of the national celebration is “Objects of Desire – the art of collecting” and Shepshed-based artist Sue Clews will be showing an eclectic collection of her desirable wirework, paintings and jewellery.
Sue’s hand-constructed wire designs include sculptural pieces, beaded hangings and ‘woven’ wire boxes made from recycled electrical wire and beads.
“My inspiration is taken from mosaics, patchwork and ancient bejewelled textiles,” says Sue, “but my work is experimental – sometimes I don’t know what a piece is going to be until I finish it.”

The exhibition opens on Friday 6th May and continues until Thursday 16th June.
