May Fayre Leicester 2006

May Fayre, Castle Gardens, Leicester, Saturday 29th April 2006, 12 noon till 6pm - FREE event

The Beltane Spring Fayre Group presents:

A pagan approach to the traditional May Fayre, with maypole, Indian/Bhangra and Egyptian dancing, singer/songwriters, May Queen and Green Man, plus a bouncy castle, a ball park, face painters, and entertainers for the whole family. A sacred space will host a teepee and workshops representing earth-based traditional and new age spiritualities, with a labyrinth meditation space.

Amplifiers for local singer/songwriters will be powered by a bicycle generator* – get ready to pedal! There will be multicultural poetry, a magickal market, an alternative healing marquee and a handfasting or pagan wedding rite (at 4:30) to round it off.

A real ale stall, Asian food, tea, chai, veggie snacks, sandwiches and soft drinks will be available.
This event is free, except for alternative healing sessions (£6 or £4 unwaged/children), market stalls and refreshments.
